This section of the AMP is devoted to the hidden, banned, forbidden, lost and forgotten
Judeo- Christian scriptures. The number of books excluded from the standard Torah or
Bible is astounding to most people.

During times preceding Christianity, Jewish leaders decided to separate the scriptures into
two basic categories: those for common eyes, and those for trained Rabbinical eyes only.
Their feelings were that some texts were too esoteric
and too deep for the comprehension of the common people. The fear was that those
uninitiated in the Rabbinical teachings would misinterpret the scriptures and be led astray.

Later, during the Christian Canonization of the Holy Bible, many Gospels and letters were
considered gnostic and once again too spiritually complex to be understood by common
disciples.

Today most of us who seek to understand the teachings of Judaism or Christianity feel that
we can decide for ourselves the truth behind the words. We come from an age where we
demand more than religious freedom, we want freedom of thought and conscience with
which to appraise our religion. That is why we, The August Mystery Project, feel it is
important to post as many forgotten scriptures for our visitors as possible. For the sake of
understanding and preservation we hope these are of use to you as students and seekers.
